Tough Loss in San Fran 😞

Marlins fans, this was a tough one to swallow as we fell to the Giants 3-1. Despite putting up a solid fight throughout, we just couldn't close it out in the clutch moments. Let's break down the game.

Early Inning Struggles 🌧️

Pitching initially dominated on both sides. Connor Norby and David Hensley both struck out in their first at-bats, with our offense struggling to gain momentum. In the bottom of the first, the Giants couldn't capitalize either, as Heliot Ramos grounded into a double play and Michael Conforto grounded out to second.

Attempting to Break Through ⚾

We saw some promise in the top of the 4th with Jonah Bride drawing a walk, but Derek Hill grounded into a fielder's choice. Hill then advanced to second on an error, but we couldn't get him home.

Derek Hill again brought excitement in the top of the 7th with a single to center, followed by a steal to second. Finally, David Hensley drove him in with a single. 1-0, Marlins! 🎉

Late-Inning Heartbreak 💔

Our lead didn't last long. In a crucial 8th inning, the Giants loaded the bases. After a pitching change, Matt Chapman delivered a crushing blow with a double to center that scored three runs. That turned the game around, putting the Giants ahead 3-1.

We couldn't muster any more offense in the 9th. Jonah Bride and Derek Hill both struck out, and Otto Lopez grounded out to end the game.

Final Thoughts 🧐

Despite the 3-1 loss, there were some positives. Derek Hill had a good game with his single and stolen base. Our bullpen held up well until the late innings, with Baumann and Soriano pitching solid innings.

Stay optimistic, Marlins fans! We’ve got the talent, and with a few more timely hits, we can turn this around. Let's go, Fish! 🐠
