Rough Start for Diamondbacks

The game didn't get off to the best start for us. In the top of the 1st, the Brewers managed to score a run with Brice Turang walking, stealing second, advancing to third on a fly out, and finally coming home on a sacrifice fly by William Contreras. The bottom half of our 1st inning was quiet, with Corbin Carroll, Ketel Marte, and Joc Pederson all getting out.

Diamondbacks Fall Behind Early

The 2nd inning was a disaster. After two quick outs, the Brewers got a flurry of hits and walks, leading to a massive 7-run inning, punctuated by a grand slam by Willy Adames. By the end of the inning, the Brewers were already up 8-0. We struggled at the plate again in the bottom of the 2nd, with Christian Walker, Jake McCarthy, and Pavin Smith all failing to get on base.

Brewers Continue to Dominate

By the 4th inning, the Brewers added 4 more runs with Contreras, Mitchell, Adames, and Bauers all contributing. Our bats were still quiet through four, with no runs scored and barely any baserunners.

Diamondbacks Show Some Life

We finally got on the board in the 6th inning! Geraldo Perdomo led off with a single, followed by Kevin Newman reaching base. Then, Josh Bell came through with a single to center, bringing in both Perdomo and Newman, making it 13-2.

Randal Grichuk Sparks a Rally

In the bottom of the 7th, we saw some sparks of life. Pavin Smith singled to center, followed by a 378-foot homer by Randal Grichuk! We added more runs with Adrian Del Castillo driving in a run and Perdomo bringing in two more with a double, reducing the deficit to 13-8.

Brewers Add Insurance in the 9th

Unfortunately, the Brewers were able to put up two more insurance runs in the 9th inning with a two-run homer by Contreras. We couldn't mount another comeback in the bottom half, with Jose Herrera, Bell, and McCarthy all getting out.

Final Thoughts

A tough loss for us, falling 15-8 to the Brewers. Our pitchers had a rough day, and it took us too long to get the bats going. Still, there were some bright spots, including Perdomo and Grichuk showing some fight. We'll need to tighten up our pitching and get some early runs to turn things around. Onward and upward, Diamondbacks fans! 🐍⚾
