Tough Loss Against the Brewers

Hey Pirate fans, 🏴‍☠️ the game against the Milwaukee Brewers today didn't go our way as the Bucs fell 5-2. Let's break down what happened.

Early Struggles to Score

The game started slowly for both teams. In the bottom of the 1st inning, we had three quick outs despite our boys trying their best. Isiah Kiner-Falefa flied out to center, Bryan Reynolds grounded out to first, and Oneil Cruz struck out swinging.

Brewers Open Up a Lead

The Brewers managed to get their first run in the 3rd inning after a triple by Ortiz followed by a ground-out RBI from Turang. They extended their lead in the 5th, scoring two more runs, courtesy of a double by Frelick and a follow-up hit by Eric Haase. The score by the end of the 5th inning was already looking tough at 3-0.

Pirates' Opportunities

We saw some potential in the 2nd inning when Andrew McCutchen got on base due to an error and Nick Gonzales managed an infield single. However, the inning ended without any runs after Joey Bart struck out and Bryan De La Cruz also went down swinging.

Brewers Add Insurance Runs

In the 6th inning, the Brewers added two more, stretching the lead to an insurmountable 5-0. This came after Rhys Hoskins doubled and Perkins hit a ground-rule double, scoring Hoskins. Jared Triolo's struggle at the plate continued with several outs at critical moments.

Late Rally Falls Short

Things looked up a bit in the bottom of the 7th inning. Nick Gonzales got on base with a walk, and Bryan De La Cruz blasted a home run to right field! ⚾💥 That put us on the board with a 5-2 score. Unfortunately, that would be our only highlight in scoring for the day.

Final Inning Disappointments

In the 9th inning, we had a chance to mount a comeback. Nick Gonzales doubled to left, but with two out and one on base, Bryan De La Cruz struck out looking, and Jared Triolo flied out to center, ending the game at 5-2.

Final Thoughts

A tough loss for our Pirates, but it's always a good day to show some Buccos spirit. 🏴‍☠️ Hopefully, we'll come back stronger in our next game. Stay positive, Buccos fans! Let's keep cheering for our team! 🎉⚾

Keep the faith, and let's go Bucs!
