Twins Dominate Padres 11-4 in San Diego

The Minnesota Twins put on an absolute clinic against the San Diego Padres, racking up an impressive 11-4 victory! 🎉

Early Innings - Pitchers' Duel

Both teams started off scoreless in the first two innings. Our defense was solid behind strong pitching from Woods Richardson. Willi Castro and Trevor Larnach got on base, but we couldn’t convert early on. The Padres' defense was also tight, and it looked like we were in for a defensive battle.

Third Inning - Cracking the Code

Everything changed in the 3rd inning when Royce Lewis hit a sacrifice fly to center, allowing Willi Castro to head home and break the tie. The Twins took control of the game and never looked back. Soon after, Matt Wallner was hit by a pitch, but we couldn't capitalize further this inning.

Massive Fourth Inning - Floodgates Open

The 4th inning was straight-up fireworks! 💥 Austin Martin doubled to left, bringing in two runs, followed by Willi Castro and Royce Lewis contributing with singles. The highlight was a phenomenal homer by Matt Wallner, sending Larnach and Lewis home for a massive 8-0 lead!

Padres Respond but Twins Stay Strong

The Padres tried to mount a comeback with Donovan Solano homering in the 5th inning and a couple of late-inning runs, including a 2-run homer by Jackson Merrill in the 8th inning. However, our pitchers - especially Thielbar and Henriquez - kept their efforts in check, and the Twins maintained a solid lead.

Insurance Runs in Later Innings

In the 5th inning, Austin Martin doubled again to bring in another run, and Trevor Larnach singled to extend our lead to 10-0. In the 9th inning, Manuel Margot added another insurance run with a single, scoring Julien on a wild pitch, pushing our tally to 11.

Locking It Down

Okert relieved Henriquez in the 9th inning and closed the game in style, getting Kyle Higashioka, Tyler Wade, and Luis Arraez out to seal the win. The Padres' attempts for a comeback were stifled, and we ended the game with a dominant victory.

Go Twins! This was a fantastic game showing our offense's power and our pitchers' resilience. Let’s carry this momentum forward! 🚀💪🧢
