A Spectacular Start by the Cubs! 
Hey, Cubs fans! Let’s break down today’s dominating win against the Mets—a fantastic 8-1 victory for our boys! 
We got off to a hot start in the bottom of the 1st inning. Nico Hoerner set the tone by drawing a walk. Although Michael Busch's fielder’s choice got Hoerner out at second, Busch advanced to second on a wild pitch. Cody Bellinger worked the count for a walk, setting up Seiya Suzuki to drive in Busch with a single. Suzuki and Bellinger masterfully navigated the bases, with runs driven in by Ian Happ and Christopher Morel. The scoring spree continued as Dansby Swanson doubled to bring Morel home, followed by Pete Crow-Armstrong’s triple scoring Swanson to cap off the inning at 5-0. What a jaw-dropping start!
Mid-game Brilliance
In the bottom of the 3rd inning, Christopher Morel continued his onslaught with a mammoth 446 feet homer to center, extending our lead to 6-0. He was simply unstoppable today!
The Mets managed to pull one back in the top of the 5th with an Alvarez homer, making it 6-1. However, our pitchers quickly shut down any hopes of a comeback. Major kudos to our defense in keeping the Mets at bay!
Finishing Strong
In the bottom of the 6th, Tomás Nido doubled to drive in Crow-Armstrong, and thanks to an error by the Mets' first baseman, Alonso, Bellinger took full advantage and Nido scored, extending our lead to 8-1. The score remained this way as our solid bullpen sealed the victory in spectacular fashion.Big shoutout to Brewer and Neris for their impeccable relief work and striking out key Mets hitters in the 8th and 9th innings.
