A Tough Loss in Cincinnati
It was a nail-biter for us Mets fans, as our team traveled to Cincinnati to take on the Reds.
Baty's Blast
After a slow start with Francisco Lindor, Juan Soto, and Pete Alonso all striking out in the first inning, it was Brett Baty who gave us some hope in the third inning. His solo homer to right field (381 feet) put the Mets on the board, giving us a 1-0 lead! It was a great moment that had Mets fans cheering loudly.Reds Rally Back
It was a tough bottom of the 4th inning as the Reds managed to tie things up with a sacrifice fly. The 6th inning saw Elly De La Cruz and Austin Hays come through for Cincinnati, pushing their lead to 3-1, and making it challenging for our Mets.A Late-Game Push
The fight wasn't over yet, as Juan Soto answered back in the top of the 9th with a homer to right center (393 feet), narrowing the Reds' lead to 3-2. With Pete Alonso reaching base on a throwing error and Luisangel Acuna coming in as a pinch runner, we had hope. Brandon Nimmo's single to left got Acuna to second, but unfortunately, a double play ended our chance to capitalize.Looking Forward
While it stings to come up short, there were bright spots and players stepping up in crucial moments. Juan Soto's and Brett Baty's homers showed the power we have in the lineup, and there's no doubt we'll come back strong in the next game. Let's go, Mets!
