The Early Setback

The game began with a bit of a shaky start for our Miami Marlins as the New York Mets took an early lead in the first inning. Francisco Lindor hammered a solo home run, and Juan Soto followed with a single and a stolen base, setting the stage for Pete Alonso's double, which brought Soto home. By the end of the first inning, we found ourselves trailing 0-2. 😬

Turning the Tide

The tables began to turn in the bottom of the 5th inning! Griffin Conine and Troy Johnston both singled, setting up Heriberto Hernandez for a massive triple to right, which brought them both home, tying the score at 2-2. 😄 Jakob Marsee then grounded out, but it was enough to bring Hernandez home and give us the lead. Agustin Ramirez kept the momentum going with a single and some impressive base-running, stealing second and then third. Xavier Edwards came through with a single to center, adding another run. Then, Connor Norby stepped up to the plate and smashed a two-run homer, putting us comfortably ahead at 6-2! 🎉

Sealing the Win

The Marlins' defense and pitching staff were rock solid for the remainder of the game. Kudos to our pitchers for keeping the Mets at bay, preventing them from making any significant threats in the later innings.

Our bullpen was on point, with Jimmy Herget and others stepping up to maintain the lead. The Mets couldn't find any traction, and the game wrapped up with the Marlins victorious at 6-2! A big high-five to Otto Lopez for his double in the 8th inning, even though we didn’t add more runs at that point.

Overall, it was a fantastic team effort, filled with clutch hitting, aggressive base running, and strong pitching. Go Marlins! 🐠💪
