Heartbreak in Philly

Oh boy, Mets fans, this was a tough one to watch. 😞 We squared off against the Phillies today, and while there were moments of promise, we couldn't quite pull through. It's always tough when we meet up with the Phillies, but this match felt like a rollercoaster that just wouldn't stop.

A Slow Start with Lindor's Firework

Things started out slow for both teams with no scores in the first three innings. But let's give a shout-out to Francisco Lindor, who got things rolling in the top of the 1st with a single to left. Even though he made it all the way to third, we just couldn't capitalize on that opportunity.

The Phillies Take Charge

The 4th inning was the game-changer, unfortunately not in our favor. Kyle Schwarber hit a massive home run to center, followed by Otto Kemp and Edmundo Sosa adding to the score. By the end of the 4th, the Phillies were up 5-0.

Lindor Lights Up, But It's Not Enough

Our hopes flared a little when Francisco Lindor nailed a stunning home run in the 8th, smashing one to right-center for 405 feet. 🎉 That was definitely a bright spot, and we could feel some life coming back to our bench. But unfortunately, that was our only score of the game, and the Phillies answered back, making it 7-1 by the end of the 7th.

Endgame and Reflections

In the 9th inning, Hayden Senger stepped in for Juan Soto trying to spark some magic, but the Phillies' pitcher Matt Strahm was just too solid. And with that, the game ended at 7-1 in favor of the Phillies.

It's hard, my fellow Mets fans, but we know there's always another game and another day to fight. Keep your heads high and let's look forward to the next match. Let's go Mets! ⚾💪
