A Tough Day for the Mets

Today was a rough game for us, fellow Mets fans. The Padres absolutely dominated from start to finish, and we came up short in every inning. The final score was a disappointing 0-7. Let's break down the game.

Padres Start Strong

The game started with a bang for the Padres when Luis Arraez hit a homer to right center in the bottom of the 1st inning. From there, we couldn't get any breaks. Francisco Lindor, Mark Vientos, and J.D. Martinez were all retired in the top of the first inning without much trouble for the Padres.

In the bottom of the 2nd inning, David Peralta and Kyle Higashioka hit back-to-back singles before Higashioka knocked it out of the park, bringing the score to 0-3. The Padres were far from done. They continued to edge ahead, ending the 3rd inning at 0-6.

Mets' Bats Go Quiet

Our lineup was ice cold today. Pete Alonso struck out three times, and none of our batters could get anything going against the Padres' pitching. Starling Marte did manage to get a double in the top of the 5th inning, but we couldn't capitalize on it. Every inning felt like the same story—three up, three down.

Francisco Alvarez and Harrison Bader also struggled today, getting retired without any real impact. It was really hard to watch as the outs piled up, inning after inning.

Padres Seal the Deal

Just when you thought it couldn’t get worse, the bottom of the 8th inning saw the Padres score yet another run, making the final score 0-7. Manny Machado singled to center, allowing Tyler Wade to score after he had run for Jurickson Profar.

In the top of the 9th, we had a glimmer of hope when Lindor doubled to left. But that hope was quickly dashed when Vientos struck out looking to end the game.

It's hard to stay positive after such a game, but we have to remember that every game is a new opportunity. Let's hope the Mets can bounce back stronger in the next game! Let's keep supporting our team, through thick and thin.

😞 It's never easy to lose, but we'll be back, and we'll be better. Let's go Mets! 🚀
