What a rollercoaster of a game, fellow Mets fans! Our boys showed real grit and fought hard to secure a 7-5 victory over the Cardinals. Let's break down the key moments that led to this fantastic win.Early Game Challenges 
The first inning had us all holding our breath, with the Cardinals jumping to an early 3-0 lead. Brendan Donovan smacking a homer to center was definitely not the start we were hoping for. Our Mets struggled to get on the board in the first few innings, but boy, did that change as the game progressed!The Turning Point 
The tide turned in the top of the 5th when the Mets' offense exploded. Brandon Nimmo crushed a 440-foot homer, bringing in Jeff McNeil and Tomas Nido to tie the game at 3-3. That wasn't all; Pete Alonso doubled to center, driving in Starling Marte and Francisco Lindor, putting us in the lead. The cherry on top? A single by J.D. Martinez brought Alonso home, extending our lead to 6-3. The Cardinals managed to claw one back in the 6th, but the momentum was firmly with the Mets.Sealing the Deal 
The Mets' defense stood tall in the latter innings, with some standout moments that kept the Cardinals at bay. Despite a tense bottom of the 9th, where Lars Nootbaar homered to bring the Cardinals within two, our boys held strong. Pete Alonso wasn't done for the night, hitting another homer in the 9th to give us a bit more breathing room. As the final Cardinals batter struck out, our victory was sealed, securing a 7-5 triumph.This game was a testament to the Mets' resilience and team spirit.
