The game started with the Yanks taking an early lead in the top of the 1st inning, thanks to Alex Verdugo's double and a crucial RBI from Jazz Chisholm Jr.. However, the Phillies quickly answered back, tying the game by the end of the inning with a double from Bohm that scored Schwarber.The Phillies grabbed control in the 2nd inning with a three-run homer from Austin Hays, pushing their lead to 4-1. The Yankees struggled to find momentum until Jazz Chisholm Jr. roared back in the 6th inning with a solo homer to right center, cutting the deficit to 4-2.
Jazz Leads the Charge
Jazz Chisholm Jr. was the star of the night. His second homer of the game in the 7th inning—a three-run shot—put the Yankees ahead 5-4. Despite our lead, the Phillies managed to push the game into extra innings, scoring the tying run in the bottom of the 9th on a wild pitch by Holmes. The bottom of the 12th saw Tonkin and Oswaldo Cabrera come through in the clutch. Tonkin took care of business, while Cabrera’s steady defense at 1st helped secure the victory.
