Athletics Start Strong, Lead Early

The A's got off to an electrifying start at Wrigley Field, thanks to a monster 408-foot homer by Shea Langeliers in the top of the 1st inning, driving in Brent Rooker who had previously singled to right. 🏟️⚾ The early 2-0 lead certainly boosted the team's morale!

Pitching and Defense Hold Strong

Our pitching staff was on point today! Despite some pressure from the Cubs, the defense managed to stay solid. Lawrence Butler extended our lead with a solo shot to right-center in the 3rd inning, giving us a 3-0 cushion. 🌟

Cubs Battle Back, But We Hold On

The Cubs tried to claw their way back with a homer from Ian Happ in the 3rd inning and another RBI from Michael Busch, but Langeliers wasn't done! He smashed another homer in the 5th inning, making it 4-2 for the A's. 💪

Nail-Biting Finish

The Cubs made it interesting in the 9th inning with Happ hitting his second homer of the game to make it 4-3. However, our closer Miller sealed the deal by striking out Seiya Suzuki for the final out. 🥳

Final Thoughts

What a game! The Athletics showed resilience and power at the plate, backed up by some solid pitching to secure a 4-3 victory over the Cubs. Hats off to Shea Langeliers for those two crucial homers and Lawrence Butler for adding the insurance run! Way to go, A's! 🌟🔥

Final Score: Athletics 4, Cubs 3
