A Rocky Start

The Red Sox had a tough start in the first inning, allowing the Phillies to take an early 2-0 lead. After a series of successful hits, including an infield single from Bryce Harper that brought Kyle Schwarber home, it was clear the Red Sox had a battle ahead. The inning continued with Bryson Stott grounding into a fielder's choice to score Nick Castellanos.

Quiet Offense Early On

The Red Sox struggled to get anything going offensively in the first three innings. Despite a couple of singles from Tyler O'Neill and Rafael Devers, they couldn't bring anyone home. Refsnyder and Westbrook both struck out in crucial at-bats, leaving runners stranded and the Red Sox scoreless through three.

Turnaround in the 4th and 5th Innings

Finally, some life in the bottom of the 4th! Devers tripled to right, and Westbrook hit a sacrifice fly to bring him home. But the real excitement came in the 5th inning. David Hamilton started with a single, and Ceddanne Rafaela followed suit. A fielding error by Whit Merrifield allowed both Hamilton and Rafaela to score, tying the game at 4-4. The highlight of the inning was an incredible double by Enmanuel Valdez, bringing in two more runs and giving the Red Sox a 6-4 lead.

Stellar Pitching Seals the Deal

After taking the lead, the bullpen did an outstanding job maintaining it. Booser and Kelly pitched perfect innings, with Kelly striking out Kyle Schwarber to end the 6th. Slaten held the Phillies in check, and Kenley Jansen overcame a balk and a ground rule double to finish the game. Though Bryson Stott managed to score one more run for the Phillies, it wasn't enough.

Hamilton's Homer in the Sixth!

We can't forget David Hamilton's 399-foot right-center blast, bringing home Bobby Dalbec and extending the lead to 8-4. 🚀 What a moment! It gave the team breathing room and the confidence to seal the game.

Final Push and Closing It Out

In the 9th inning, things got a bit tense as Harper doubled and reached third on a balk, before scoring on a sacrifice fly. However, Jansen held his nerves and closed it out, securing a solid 8-6 victory.

Final Thoughts

An incredible comeback and a fantastic team effort! Rafael Devers and David Hamilton were standouts with crucial hits, and the bullpen locked it down when it mattered most. The Red Sox showcased resilience and grit in this 8-6 victory. Let's keep this momentum going! 🧢⚾💥

Let's go, Red Sox!
