Our Reds had a brief glimmer of hope when Stuart Fairchild nabbed an infield single, but a quick out on runner's interference and consecutive groundouts quelled the threat early on. The Phillies then took a steady, albeit slow, lead with a score in the second and another in the third, pushing their advantage to 2-0.Missed Opportunities
Christian Encarnacion-Strand gave us a beacon of hope with a single in the fifth, and Elly De La Cruz got as far as third base, showcasing his speed with a daring steal. Unfortunately, the Reds failed to capitalize, leaving De La Cruz stranded.
