Schwarber Sets the Tone Early 🏌️‍♂️

Right from the get-go, Kyle Schwarber gave us something to cheer about with a towering homer to right-center (396 feet) in the top of the 1st inning, putting the Phillies ahead 1-0. Unfortunately, the rest of the inning wasn’t as kind, with Trea Turner getting stranded at third base after stealing a bag.

Blue Jays Roar Back in the First 😩

The bottom of the 1st was a rough ride. Toronto’s Daulton Varsho launched a two-run homer, followed by a flurry of hits and another two-run blast from Addison Barger. By the time we got out of the inning, the scoreboard was 6-1 in favor of the Blue Jays.

Digging into the Deficit 👊

Despite the early hole, the Phillies didn’t back down. Schwarber was on fire, hitting another homer in the 4th inning to narrow the deficit to 6-4. Bryson Stott and J.T. Realmuto contributed as well, with runs that helped us keep it close.

Trading Blows through the Middle Innings 💥

The Blue Jays answered back with a two-run homer from Vladimir Guerrero Jr., extending their lead to 8-4. But the Phillies stayed resilient, scoring three times in the 7th inning to make it 8-7. Clutch hits from Stott, Brandon Marsh, and a key single by Schwarber trimmed the lead further.

Final-Frame Fireworks 🎇

Down by a run in the 9th, the Phillies pulled off a dramatic twist. Edmundo Sosa led off with a single, and Kody Clemens doubled to set the stage. Schwarber came up huge yet again, blasting his THIRD homer of the game (426 feet) and driving in three runs to give us a 10-8 lead.

Staving Off the Final Push 🤯

The bottom of the 9th wasn't without stress. Matt Strahm took the mound with fire, striking out Will Wagner and Alejandro Kirk before giving up a solo homer to Leo Jimenez, narrowing the lead to 10-9. Finally, Ernie Clement’s pop-out secured the hard-fought win!

Final Thoughts 🌟

This game was a rollercoaster from start to finish, but the Phillies showed incredible grit and determination to pull off a thrilling 10-9 victory. Kyle Schwarber deserves every accolade tonight for his three home runs and six RBIs. Way to go, Phillies! 🥳
