Frustrating Day at Wrigley: Cubs Fall 5-0 to Pirates
Hey Cubs Fans,
It was definitely a tough one to watch today at Wrigley Field as our beloved Cubbies got blanked by the Pittsburgh Pirates, losing 5-0. We had some moments that made us believe we could turn it around, but unfortunately, the bats were mostly silent.Early Opportunities Missed
In the first inning, we almost got something going. Seiya Suzuki singled to center and later stole second, but we just couldn’t capitalize on it. Cody Bellinger walked, and Isaac Paredes walked to load the bases, but Nico Hoerner grounded into a fielder’s choice. No early runs for us, and that set the tone for the rest of the game.
Pirates Capitalize in the 3rd
The Pirates struck in the 3rd inning with Isiah Kiner-Falefa and Oneil Cruz setting the stage. Andrew McCutchen hit a sac fly to bring Kiner-Falefa home, and then Rowdy Tellez singled to right, scoring Cruz. Just like that, we were down 2-0.Silent Bats and a Big Blow in the 7th
We really didn’t get much going offensively. Dansby Swanson and Christian Bethancourt had some hits, but we couldn't string them together. The fatal blow came in the 7th inning when Jared Triolo hit a three-run homer off Miller

Despite solid bullpen contributions from Drew Smyly, Cody Miller, and Roberts, the Cubs' bats were eerily quiet. We had a late single by Ian Happ in the 7th, and Mike Tauchman came to pinch-hit in the 9th, but couldn't get anything substantial going.Wrapping Up
Final score: Pirates 5, Cubs 0. A day to forget, but we won't stop believing in our team. We’ll be back stronger
