Although Bryan Reynolds got struck out looking, Connor Joe doubled to left, sending McCutchen to third. The Pirates claimed the game's first run when Edward Olivares hit a sacrifice fly to right, allowing McCutchen to score. The momentum was building, and Ke'Bryan Hayes didn't let it drop; he homered to left center, bringing Joe home.
