Dodgers Seal Victory with Late Innings Rally!

Hey Dodgers fans! What a game! The boys in blue took down the Padres in a thrilling 7-2 victory, and it was absolutely electric! 
Pitching and Defense Hold Strong Through Early Innings 
Both teams started off this matchup with strong pitching and tight defense. In the top of the first, Walker Buehler and our defense did a fantastic job holding the Padres scoreless. Fernando Tatis Jr. and Manny Machado managed singles, but the Padres couldn't capitalize. Our lineup had a bit of a slow start, with Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, and Teoscar Hernandez unable to get any runs across. Kevin Kiermaier and crew in the outfield also put on a defensive clinic, making sure no runner advanced past third. Padres Get on the Board, Dodgers Respond 
The Padres struck first in the 5th inning with David Peralta scoring off a groundout, making it 1-0. But Will Smith and Max Muncy had other plans! In the bottom of the 7th, Muncy drew a walk, and Smith blasted a homer to center field, tying the game at 2-2. Seventh Inning Magic for the Dodgers 
The magic continued in the seventh inning! Enrique Hernandez came in for Gavin Lux and singled to center, setting up a big inning. Andy Pages reached on a catcher’s interference, and Ohtani capped it off with a single to right, scoring Hernandez. Thanks to a throwing error by Tatis Jr., Ohtani and Pages both scored! The Dodgers took a 5-2 lead!Pages and the Dodgers Close the Door 
Reliever Blake Treinen did an excellent job in the 8th, only allowing Tatis Jr. to reach base before holding the Padres off. Then came the bottom of the 8th where Pages smashed a 428-foot two-run homer to left, giving us a 7-2 cushion. Sealing the Deal 
Michael Kopech came in to close out the game in the 9th. With a double from Xander Bogaerts as the only blemish, Kopech ensured smooth sailing and the Dodgers claimed a well-deserved 7-2 victory. We showed incredible resilience and teamwork tonight. A big shout-out to our squad: Mookie Betts, Shohei Ohtani, Will Smith, Max Muncy, and the rest of the LA Dodgers! Let’s keep this momentum going!
