Tough Loss in Philadelphia

It was a nail-biter at Citizens Bank Park tonight, but unfortunately, our San Diego Padres came up just short against the Phillies, losing 3-4. It was a game full of ups and downs, and while our boys showed a lot of heart, they couldn't quite seal the deal.

Pitcher's Duel Early On

The game started off slow with both teams struggling to get anything going offensively. Luis Arraez, Jake Cronenworth, and Jurickson Profar all went down in order in the first inning. On the other side, King managed to keep the Phillies off the board despite Bryce Harper getting a walk in the bottom of the first.

Breakthrough in the Fourth

The fourth inning saw the first run of the game, and unfortunately, it was the Phillies who got on the scoreboard first. Nick Castellanos doubled to left and eventually scored off a single by Brandon Marsh. We were down but definitely not out!

Campusano Comes Up Big!

Top of the 6th inning was where things got really exciting! David Peralta walked, and then Luis Campusano hit a massive 408-foot homer to center, giving us a 2-1 lead! Not stopping there, Tyler Wade singled and eventually scored thanks to a clutch single by Jurickson Profar. We were now up 3-1, and the dugout was buzzing. 🐝

Late Inning Drama

Our bullpen did a solid job through the 6th and 7th innings, but things got tense in the 8th. Kyle Schwarber hit a solo homer to cut our lead to 3-2. Then, in the bottom of the 9th, things just fell apart. Bryce Harper singled, Alec Bohm followed suit, and Bryson Stott tied the game with another single. The final dagger came when Nick Castellanos hit a ground rule double, driving in the winning run. Just like that, the Phillies walked us off 4-3. Ouch! 😢

Looking Forward

It was a tough pill to swallow, but our Padres never gave up and showed resilience throughout the game. Special shoutout to Luis Campusano for that key homer, and props to Jurickson Profar for his clutch hit. Next game is a new game, and you can bet we'll be back stronger! 💪⚾

Stay positive, Pads fans! Let's get 'em next time! 🏆
