Tough Loss for the Rangers Against the Padres ​

Hey, Rangers fans! It was a challenging game for us as the San Diego Padres edged out a 3-1 victory. Let’s break down what happened.

Pitcher's Duel Early On ️​

The first three innings saw both teams struggling to get on base. Our boys had limited chances with Corey Seager managing a single in the 1st and Josh Smith getting one in the 3rd, but we couldn't convert those into runs. Max Scherzer had a solid start, shutting the Padres down early.

Padres Strike First (and Second) ​

The Padres took the lead in the 4th inning after a wild pitch allowed Jurickson Profar to advance to third, followed by a double from Donovan Solano to bring him home. They extended their lead in the 6th with a solo homer by Profar.

Rangers Fight Back ​

In the bottom of the 6th, we finally got on the board! After Seager doubled and Nathaniel Lowe walked, Wyatt Langford singled to bring Seager home, making it 2-1. Unfortunately, despite the momentum, we couldn't push another run across.

Padres Push Back ​

The Padres answered right back in the 7th with another run thanks to a sacrifice fly by Ha-Seong Kim, making the score 3-1. We saw a tremendous effort by our bullpen to keep it close, but our offense just couldn’t find the gaps in the Padres' defense.

Nail-Biting Finish ​

It came down to the 9th inning, and after Langford walked, we had a glimmer of hope. But a fielder's choice and a strikeout later, we saw Jonah Heim come in to pinch hit who grounded out to end the game.
