Heartbreaking Loss After Incredible Start 😢

Fellow Giants fans, it's tough to swallow this one. Despite an explosive start, scoring four runs in the top of the 1st inning, we couldn't hold on against the Nationals and ended up losing 11-5.

A Strong Start 💪

Our offense was on fire early on! Heliot Ramos started it off with a towering homer to center. Not to be outdone, Michael Conforto smashed a 414-foot homer to right center, bringing in Matt Chapman and Mark Canha to score. We were up 4-0 and spirits were high! 😃

Difficult Second Inning ⚠️

The bottom of the 2nd saw the Nationals storm back. James Wood’s triple set the stage, and C.J. Abrams' three-run homer turned the tide, giving the Nationals a 5-4 lead. It was a brutal blow that we just couldn't recover from.

Fighting On 🥊

In the 4th, Fitzgerald singled to left and Ramos followed with another single, igniting hope after scoring his second run due to a fielding error. But we couldn’t capitalize further, and it remained a challenging game from there.

Missed Opportunities 🔄

Unfortunately, our bats went cold when we needed them most. In critical moments, including with runners in scoring positions in the 5th and 6th innings, we failed to bring anyone home. That top of the 9th was especially tough with Fitzgerald's double offering a glimmer of hope, only to have back-to-back outs end it.

Nationals’ Strong Finish 🌩️

The Nationals didn't hold back. Luis Garcia Jr. and Keibert Ruiz kept the momentum, and Wood's homer in the 8th inning sealed our fate. It was a relentless onslaught that our bullpen just couldn't contain.

Overall, a game that started with so much promise ended in disappointment. We’ll regroup and come back stronger next game, Giants fans. Keep the faith! 🧡⚾

Go Giants! 🟧⚫
