Tough Loss at Wrigley
Well, folks, it was a rough outing at Wrigley Field today as our beloved Cubs fell to the Seattle Mariners with a final score of 14-6. The Mariners jumped ahead early after a 440-foot homer by Cal Raleigh in the first inning. We managed to get on the board in the bottom of the first thanks to a solo shot by Seiya Suzuki, but the Mariners' offense proved relentless throughout the game.Mariners' Homers vs. Cubs' Efforts
The Mariners showcased their power with homers from Dominic Canzone and Donovan Solano, each providing timely and critical hits. Our own Seiya Suzuki was a bright spot with two home runs, helping us claw back some runs in the 5th inning. Reese McGuire also went deep to add to our attempts to come back. In the 7th inning, Kyle Tucker blasted a 422-foot homer, giving us hope and narrowing the gap.Veteran Wisdom and Defensive Struggles
Despite some solid swings from Justin Turner and efforts across the lineup, we struggled defensively, committing errors that led to extra Mariners' runs. Julio Rodríguez and Randy Arozarena made the most of these opportunities, continually adding pressure. Our pitching staff had a tough time holding back Seattle, who managed to stretch their lead with a flurry of hits in the 8th.Looking Ahead
It's always tough to watch a game veer off course, but it's also part of what makes baseball exciting—we'll bounce back stronger! Next game is a new opportunity to turn things around and showcase our North Side spirit. Let's keep rooting, Cubs fans! We've got the talent to make it happen!
