Heartbreak in the 9th Inning
Last night's game at our home turf against the Seattle Mariners was a rollercoaster of emotions, ending in a nail-biting climax that saw our Astros just fall short, with the final score ending at 5-4 in favor of the Mariners.
A Slow Start but a Promising Comeback
The game started off quiet for both sides, with each team's pitchers keeping the bats at bay. However, the Mariners drew first blood in the 2nd inning, racking up 2 runs off walks and singles. For a moment, it seemed like it was going to be one of those nights. But true to form, the resilience of the team shone through later in the game. The highlight came in the 6th inning when Kyle Tucker sent a majestic homer to right field, bringing in Jose Altuve and igniting the comeback flame!
Singleton's Blast and a Bitter End
Our spirits soared in the 7th inning when Jon Singleton stepped up and smacked a 2-run homer to right field, pushing us into the lead with a 4-3 score. The crowd was electric, and hope was in the air that we could close this one out. But baseball is a game of inches and seconds, and fortune swung back to the Mariners in the 8th and 9th innings.A critical homer by Cal Raleigh in the 9th off Josh Hader pulled the rug from under us, leaving our Astros a run behind. In the bottom of the 9th, despite the heart and hustle, we couldn't crack the Mariners' bullpen, with Altuve's fly-out to right field sealing our fate.

It's tough to swallow a loss like this, especially with the fight the team showed to claw back into the lead. However, the season is long, and our Astros have displayed time and time again the heart and talent that makes them a force to be reckoned with.
