Mariners Fall Short to Angels in Tight 3-2 Battle 😢

Last night, our Seattle Mariners faced off against the Los Angeles Angels and, despite a spirited performance from our boys, we came up just short, losing 3-2.

First Inning: Tough Start, But We Held On 💪

The Angels started strong with Taylor Ward homering to center (397 feet), giving the Angels an early 1-0 lead. Although Zach Neto walked, our defense held firm with Nolan Schanuel, Anthony Rendon, and Kevin Pillar getting out. Our batting lineup couldn't connect, with Victor Robles, Julio Rodriguez, and Cal Raleigh all making outs. We finished the inning with the Angels leading 1-0.

Second Inning: Equalizer from Raley! 🎯

We didn't wait long to respond. Luke Raley hit a magnificent homer to center (437 feet) to tie the game at 1-1. The Angels couldn't capitalize either, with Mickey Moniak, Matt Thaiss, and Jo Adell failing to bring in any runs despite a promising single by Brandon Drury. End of the 2nd inning, score tied 1-1.

Third Inning: Taking the Lead! 🏃‍♂️

Josh Rojas stepped up and hit a ground rule double. He was advanced to third by Leo Rivas' ground out and scored on Victor Robles' sacrifice fly. Though we took the lead at 2-1, we couldn't build on it, with Julio Rodríguez grounding out.

Fifth Inning: Angels Strike Back ⚾

The Angels' fifth inning proved decisive. Taylor Ward doubled, Zach Neto got hit by a pitch, and Rendon single brought them both home. That put the Angels back on top, 3-2. Despite our best efforts, we couldn't reach home plate again, and though our defense shut them down for the rest of their innings, the damage was done.

Final Push: Almost There! 📈

In the 8th inning, Julio Rodriguez gave us hope with a single and a stolen base, but we couldn't convert as Cal Raleigh struck out and Jorge Polanco lined out. Our 9th inning saw another glimmer as Luke Raley got a single, but the Angels' defense was tight, turning a crucial double play against pinch-hitter J.P. Crawford.

Close, But Not Enough 😔

It was a close game and there were promising moments, but we ultimately lost by a single run. Let's keep our heads up, Mariners fans! There's always next game, and our team's fighting spirit is sure to bring us victories soon. 🌊⚾
