Tough Start for Mariners

The Seattle Mariners had a rough start against the Miami Marlins, going down early in the game. In the top of the 1st inning, the Mariners couldn't get anything going, with J.P. Crawford, Josh Rojas, and Julio Rodríguez all getting out quickly.

Marlins Take an Early Lead

The Marlins came out swinging in the bottom of the 1st. Jazz Chisholm Jr. doubled and managed to score on a single by Jake Burger. Then, Nick Gordon hit a three-run homer, putting the Mariners in a 4-0 hole.

Fighting Back in the 4th Inning

The Mariners started to show some life in the 4th inning. Dominic Canzone walked, and Luke Raley hit a two-run homer to get the Mariners on the board, making it 6-2. Mitch Garver also walked, but the offensive surge ended there.

Relief Pitching Holds the Line

Credit to our relief pitchers who kept us in the game. Saucedo, Thornton, and Voth did well to keep the Marlins from adding to their lead, giving our batters a chance to make a comeback.

Close but Not Enough in the 7th

In the 7th inning, the Mariners had another chance to score. Cal Raleigh and Ryan Bliss managed to drive in runs, reducing the deficit to 6-4. J.P. Crawford singled to keep the momentum going, but a strikeout ended the inning.

Final Push in the 9th

In the top of the 9th, Garver singled and Raleigh walked, putting us in a great position. Unfortunately, Ryan Bliss and Crawford were unable to bring them home, and a final out from Rodríguez ended the game at 6-4.

Conclusion 🐟⛵️

Despite a valiant effort, the Mariners couldn't overcome the early deficit. The final score was 6-4 in favor of the Marlins. A tough loss, but we'll bounce back. Keep your heads up, Mariners fans! 💪✊
