A Roller Coaster of a Game!
Hey Brewers fans, today's game was quite the heartbreaker
. The Brewers put up a tough fight against the Cardinals, but unfortunately, we fell short in extra innings with a final score of 7-4.Early Troubles
The game started off rocky for us. In the top of the 1st inning, the Cardinals took an early lead with Nolan Arenado's sacrifice fly and Paul Goldschmidt's double driving in two runs. Our boys couldn't answer back in the bottom of the inning despite William Contreras’ walk.Third Inning Spark
Things started to look up in the 3rd inning when Joey Ortiz and Jackson Chourio went deep with solo homers to tie the game 2-2. Chourio’s homer to center was an absolute rocket!
Back-and-Forth Battle
The Cardinals retook the lead in the 4th inning with a homer from Goldschmidt again, making it 3-2. However, Brice Turang and Chourio teamed up in the 5th to tie the game once more, 3-3, thanks to a crucial error by Lars Nootbaar.Pitching Duel
Our pitchers did a fantastic job of keeping the Cardinals in check through the middle innings, with Aaron Ashby and Trevor Megill locking things down. High fives to those guys!
Extra Innings Drama
The 10th inning was tense as Rhys Hoskins and Ortiz got on base, but we couldn't bring anyone home. The top of the 11th saw the Cards take the lead with a hit from Goldschmidt, but Willy Adames answered back, bringing in Blake Perkins to tie it 4-4.12th Inning Disappointment
The 12th inning was a heartbreaker. The Cards scored 3 runs due to a wild pitch and a throwing error. Despite our best efforts, we couldn't mount a comeback.Final Thoughts
Though we didn't get the win, there were some positive takeaways. Homers by Ortiz and Chourio were highlights, and our bullpen showed some resilience. We'll get 'em next time! Keep the faith, Brewers fans!
