Despite solid contacts, the Cards struggled to counter the early Philly onslaught, heading into the 2nd with a deficit we unfortunately couldn't shake off.Cardinals Show Glimmers of Hope but Fall Short
The top of the 3rd inning saw a slight glimmer of hope when Nolan Gorman singled and Michael Siani doubled, placing runners in scoring position. Winn managed a sac fly that finally put the Cardinals on the board. Despite this, the Cardinals' offense couldn't capitalize further, and the Phillies extended their lead in subsequent innings.
