Cardinals Jump Ahead Early

What a way to start the game! In the Top of the 1st inning, Masyn Winn got us rolling with a single to right. After a walk by Alec Burleson, it was Nolan Arenado who brought home the first run, driving in Winn with a single to left. Although we couldn't add more, it felt great to see our boys lead 1-0! 😃

Giants Fight Back in the 2nd

Things got a bit shaky in the Bottom of the 2nd inning. The Giants came alive with Jerar Encarnación hammering a 2-run homer to center field, giving them a 2-1 lead. They added another run with Brett Wisely scoring on a Mike Yastrzemski double. Suddenly, we were trailing 3-1. 😕

Nootbaar and the Rally in the 4th

Lars Nootbaar gave us hope with a solo homer in the Top of the 3rd inning, closing the gap to 3-2. Then, we had a massive 4th inning, starting with Jordan Walker's infield single and Michael Siani reaching on a fielder's choice and then advancing on a balk. Winn doubled to score Siani, tying the game at 3-3! Burleson followed with an RBI single to give us the lead again at 4-3. Arenado and Nootbaar kept the momentum, driving in more runs to extend our lead to 6-3! 🔥

Steady Defense and Strong Pitching

The rest of the game was a testament to our pitching and defense holding firm. Despite the Giants putting runners on base, our bullpen was lights out! Special shout out to Matthew Liberatore and Ryan Helsley who closed the door in the 8th and 9th innings. Helsley struck out the last two batters to seal the victory. 💪

Final Thoughts

Great team win for our Cardinals, showing resilience and clutch hitting along the way. That rally in the 4th inning was the turning point and showcased the depth of our lineup. Congrats to Nolan Arenado and Lars Nootbaar for their huge hits that fueled the comeback. Let's carry this momentum forward! Go Cards! 🎉⚾
