Nathaniel Lowe showed his power by smashing a 441-foot homer to center in the 4th, closing the gap to 3-2. Our persistence paid off in the 5th inning when Jonah Heim took one for the team, getting hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to tie the game at 3-3. In the 8th, Heim stepped up again and blasted a solo homer to center, evening the score at 4-4. Way to go, Heim!
Ninth Inning Drama
We had a golden opportunity in the top of the 9th when Marcus Semien reached third after Josh Smith singled to right. Unfortunately, we couldn't bring him home as Adolis García flied out to right, leaving the score tied at 4-4.Walk-off Heartbreak
It all came down to the bottom of the 9th. Oakland's Zack Gelof singled to start the inning and stole second base. This set the stage for Jacob Wilson, who singled to center and brought Gelof home for the winning run. Our hearts sank as the Athletics clinched the game with a walk-off victory.
Final Thoughts
