Angels Fall Short Against Blue Jays, 4-2

Well, fellow Angels fans, it wasn't the result we were hoping for as the Toronto Blue Jays edged us out with a final score of 4-2. There were some bright moments, but the bats were mostly silent today.

A Rough Start

The game kicked off without much action at first. The top of the first inning didn't yield any runs for the Blue Jays, but our Angels couldn't get anything going either. Nolan Schanuel, Zach Neto, and Logan O'Hoppe all went down in order.

Blue Jays Strike First

The Blue Jays broke the deadlock in the top of the 3rd inning with a series of hits. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. doubled to left, and Spencer Horwitz followed up with a ground rule double that brought Guerrero Jr. home. Will Wagner and Leo Jimenez kept the momentum going, adding three more runs. It was a tough inning as the Blue Jays jumped to a 4-0 lead.

Moniak and Adell Go Deep

Some positive highlights for us came in the bottoms of the 3rd and 9th innings. Mickey Moniak gave us a moment to cheer with a solo home run to right (395 feet) in the 3rd inning. Later in the 9th, Jo Adell also smashed a homer to right center (394 feet) to cut the deficit to 4-2.

Struggles at the Plate

Unfortunately, that was all the scoring for us. Our offense struggled to get anything going throughout the game. Nolan Schanuel and Zach Neto couldn't find their rhythm today, and we left too many opportunities on the field.

Pitching Changes

On the mound, our pitchers did a decent job despite the damage in the 3rd. Both Crouse and Moore kept things under control after that tough inning. Baumann also had a fairy efficient 9th inning, giving us a chance to mount a comeback that fell just short.

Looking Forward

While today's game didn't go our way, there were certainly moments of brilliance from Moniak and Adell. Let's hope that the bats wake up in the next game and the pitching remains solid.

Chin up, Angels fans! There's still plenty of baseball to be played. Let's keep supporting our team with all our might. ⚾💪😇
