A Heartbreaking Seventh Inning
As a dedicated Washington Nationals fan, watching last night's game against the Los Angeles Angels was a roller coaster of emotions. We kicked things off strong, holding the Angels scoreless through the first few innings. When CJ Abrams smashed a homer in the top of the 5th to tie the game 1-1, the excitement was palpable!
The Trout Factor
Unfortunately, it didn’t take long for the Angels to retaliate in dramatic fashion. Mike Trout, an undeniable force, leveled the score with a solo home run that started a disastrous series of events for us in the bottom of the 7th. The pitching change didn’t work in our favor, as Kevin Newman hammered a clutch three-run homer that put the game out of reach.
A Fight To The End
Despite entering the final inning trailing by six runs, our boys didn't give up. It was great seeing Daylen Lile and Josh Bell put up a fight and display some solid hits. Even as the game wound down, I couldn’t help but savor Abrams and Lile ensuring the Angels worked for every out. Sadly, it just wasn’t enough today as the game closed with an 8-2 loss. There's always another battle to be fought, and we'll come back stronger! Go Nats!
