Abrams Sets the Tone Early! 💥

The game kicked off in thrilling fashion for our Washington Nationals as CJ Abrams smashed a solo home run to right center field (396 feet) in the top of the first inning! The early lead didn’t last long, though. Brandon Lowe from the Rays countered with a homer of his own in the bottom of the first, evening the score at 1-1.

Getting Ahead in the Fourth 🌟

After three tight innings, the Nationals managed to pull ahead in the fourth inning. Luis Garcia Jr. singled to center and a wild pitch from Civale allowed him to advance to third. Garcia Jr. then scored on another wild pitch, giving the Nationals a 2-1 lead. Meanwhile, our pitchers were keeping the Rays' batters at bay!

Explosive Seventh Inning 🚀

The game really opened up for the Nats in the seventh inning. A sequence of hits and key plays saw Jacob Young, CJ Abrams, Lane Thomas, Jesse Winker, Luis Garcia Jr., Harold Ramirez, and Keibert Ruiz all contributing to a massive six-run inning. By the end of this onslaught, the Nationals had a commanding 8-1 lead!

Locking it Down 👊

The Nationals' bullpen kept the Rays in check for the rest of the game. Harvey and Finnegan pitched effectively, striking out batters and preventing any potential comeback. The final out came when Randy Arozarena flied out to center, sealing an 8-1 victory for us!

Final Thoughts 🎉

What a game, Nats fans! From CJ Abrams’s early homer to our powerhouse seventh inning, the team showed grit and determination in this commanding win over the Rays. Let’s keep this momentum going!
