Opening Highlights
Hey, Tigers fans!
It was quite a game against the Cincinnati Reds, filled with ups and downs for the boys in Detroit. The match started quietly, with both teams taking some time to find their feet, keeping the score at 0-0 after the first inning. Mid-Game Action
Things picked up in the 3rd inning as Jahmai Jones smashed a homer (388 feet) to give us a brief lead. The excitement continued when Zach McKinstry and Wenceel Perez each put the pressure on with strong hits. Perez even homered in the 4th inning, tying the game at 2-2 with his 408-foot blast!
In the 7th inning, Javier Báez and Gleyber Torres worked their magic with key hits, allowing Torres and Riley Greene to bring in runs and push the Tigers into a 4-2 lead. Things were looking promising at this point!
Closing Challenges
Unfortunately, the 8th inning was a tough one for us. The Reds capitalized on some errors to gain momentum and bring in multiple runs, shifting the lead to 6-4 in their favor.
In the last attempt to make a comeback in the 9th inning, Elly De La Cruz hit a dagger of a home run to extend the Reds' lead to 8-4.Despite the valiant efforts and great moments from the team, the game slipped away in the latter innings, concluding with a final score of 8-4 in favor of the Reds.
