Athletics Offense Struggles Early
Our boys from Oakland started out the game slowly

, failing to score in the first few innings.
Lawrence Butler and
Jacob Wilson both struck out looking in the bottom of the 1st, and despite getting
Brent Rooker on base with a walk,
Nick Kurtz struck out swinging to end our first opportunity for a run.
Defensive Woes in the Second
Things got tricky in the top of the 2nd with
Luis Urias making a costly error

, allowing
Nolan Jones to score after a double by
Bo Naylor. The Guardians kept the pressure on, and before we knew it, we were down 4-0. Our pitcher could really use some backing from the team at this point. But what’s baseball without a little drama, right?
Athletics Fight Back
Now, in the bottom of the 7th, finally, some A's magic!
JJ Bleday walked,
Luis Urias singled, and
Austin Wynns doubled to score Bleday.

That got the fans cheering! But, unfortunately,
Denzel Clarke struck out swinging, and
Jacob Wilson lined out. The Guardians remained up 4-1, but we weren’t done fighting!
A's Make a Late Push
The 8th inning showed promise when
Brent Rooker tripled to center. A sacrifice fly by
Max Muncy brought Rooker home!

Athletic fans had hope again, but alas, the Guardians' bullpen played tough, and despite our efforts, we couldn’t close the gap any further. The game ended on a sour note in the 9th with a 4-2 loss.
Conclusion
Though it was a tough loss at the Coliseum, the late innings showed some grit from our Athletics. Let's look forward to the upcoming games, hoping for that revival in form!

Keep the green and gold spirit alive, A's fans!
