An Exciting Battle at Oracle Park
What a thrilling game it was as our San Francisco Giants hosted the Colorado Rockies.

Early Strike and Giant Comeback
The Rockies came out swinging early with Hunter Goodman giving them an initial lead by homering to left in the first inning. Shortly after, Brenton Doyle expanded their lead with a homer of his own. But our Giants didn’t stay down for long. In the bottom of the second, a commanding homer by Casey Schmitt, which traveled an impressive 422 feet, brought Matt Chapman and Wilmer Flores home. This power play gave us the lead at 3-2!
Tension in the Late Innings
The game tightened as neither side gave much in the following innings. Our bullpen held strong, keeping the Rockies at bay. In the bottom of the eighth, Andrew Knizner’s patience paid off with a walk, and Rafael Devers came through with a critical double to bring Knizner home and extend our lead to 4-2.
Holding Off the Rockies
The ninth inning was a nail-biter with the Rockies' Jordan Beck homering to bring them within one run. Our relief pitchers were put to the test. Zach Beitel ultimately sealed this victory for us by holding his ground and retiring the last hitters.
Overall, it was an exciting win at Oracle Park, showcasing some fantastic performances by our Giants squad. Onto the next one, let's keep this momentum going!
