Tough Loss in Extras
What a nail-biter tonight between our beloved St. Louis Cardinals and the Milwaukee Brewers!
Cardinals' Fighting Spirit
The Brewers took an early lead in the second inning when Ortiz singled to right, allowing Bauers to score. But our boys didn't back down! In the fourth inning, Ivan Herrera got on base with a single to center, and Alec Burleson followed suit by singling to left. The ever-reliable Nolan Arenado stepped up with a clutch single to left to bring Herrera home and even up the score—showing precision and flair as always!
Relentless Effort until the End
We took the lead in the fifth inning when Pedro Pagés and Jordan Walker brilliantly got on base, setting up Brendan Donovan for a single to drive Pagés home. This put us up 2-1, and the excitement in Busch Stadium was palpable as our Cardinals battled on the field. Despite the Brewers leveling the score once again in the sixth, our defense held strong for the next few innings, taking it to extra innings. That’s when the Brewers managed to sneak in a run in the top of the 10th, shattering our hopes for a comeback as the final innings came up short.
While today's result might sting a bit, there's no denying the effort and determination our Cardinals showed on the field. Each player gave it their all, and we fans are proud of that fighting spirit. Onto the next game with our heads held high—Go Cards!
