Tough Start but No Quit in Our Marlins!

Hey Marlins fans! ⚾🐟 Well, we had a tough one tonight as we faced off against the Philadelphia Phillies, but there were definitely some bright spots worth cheering for. The game started with a bit of a setback when Bryce Harper hit a two-run homer in the top of the first after Kyle Schwarber got on base being hit by a pitch. It's never easy seeing the opponents take an early lead, but our Marlins never backed down!

Rallying Back

Going into the fourth inning, the Phillies managed to stretch their lead to 4-0. But our boys, led by Agustin Ramirez and Eric Wagaman, came alive in the bottom of the same inning. Ramirez reached base with a clever infield single, and after a solid hit by Jakob Marsee, Wagaman powered a double to bring Ramirez home. Our scoring drive continued with Joey Wiemer giving us another lift, which allowed Heriberto Hernandez to score courtesy of a play by Javier Sanoja. Still, the inning closed with us trailing 4-2.

Holding the Line

Through the final innings, our pitching staff, led by relief efforts from Gibson and Roa, kept the Phillies from adding to their score. Meanwhile, offensively, Maximo Acosta showed determination with a double in the seventh, but unfortunately, our momentum slowed with some tough defensive plays by the Phillies. Despite our best efforts, including a pinch-hitting appearance from Liam Hicks in the ninth, closing on the gap just wasn't in the cards today as we ended the game 4-2.

Let's hold our heads high, Marlins fans! Our team showed grit and determination against the Phillies. Let's bring that energy into our next game and look forward to what the future holds. Keep swimming! 🐬💪⚾
